    How narrow is too narrow?

I picked up a piece of fabric from Savers 6'x13'. Holds water like a ziplock, so I'm assuming it's silnylon.

Are there any hammockers out there using one piece of 72" wide silnylon for a tarp?

You could make an asym tarp with it and be fine.

    Agreed,
I just made an asym tarp from a piece that was 7x10. Works great when hung from the diag corners and seems to be plenty of coverage. Yours would only be about 6" less per side then mine, so I'm thinking it should work . . .

I agree. The 6' wide will give you better coverage than this one, but you can use the same design.

I'd just skip the tie-outs, and use sheet bends to attach the ridge and side tie outs. You'll end up with a 14' ridgeline.

    Nice score on the fabric!

Here's a link about my 5'x10' set up to be used rectangular or asym. It's minimal but works...http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...lesson+learned
