Well, when you put it that way...

Isn't it interesting how the things that give us so many problems as adults were seen as opportunities for fun and adventure as children?

They are made out of bamboo. I have yet to see them fail. But I guess it is possible that they could split in half, although they are bound by paracord so doubt that will happen. As far as folding in half, doubt that too. Bamboo is pretty strong. But anything is possible.

That sounds cool. Are they store bought, or did you make them yourself? There's lots of wild bamboo stands around here. I've made use of some stalks for various projects on occasion. Do you have any pictures of your hiking poles you could post?

I have a Bamboo grove on my property consisting of 3 different types of bamboo species. I'm a bit of a bamboo nut to be honest.
Here is a video tutorial on some regular trekking poles I did awhile back. Ill do a video on how I set them up with a hammock soon. Pretty busy with classes ATM but maybe on the weekends ill get to working on it.

Maybe I can finally put to rest the argument of setting up a hammock without trees.

So, are you saying that you have a Turtlelady forest?
