O.K seriously great review but yall got to stop your going to push me over the edge into buying one. Well actually you already did, I am on my way now to the WB website to order my RR. Thanks for the great review. Any ways once my wife finds out I ordered the RR I'm going to get a lot of use out of it cause ill have to set it up in the dog house

Brandon has put togather a great bridge package. After seeing spindrift sock it makes me wonder if If one could just go with a smaller tarp in combination the sock. The sock could be put on during cooler trips, and left at home during warmer weather. The smaller tarp plus the weight of the sock would be similar in weight to a larger tarp and seems the that the sock would block the wind and add warmth. I have no experince with a sock so maybe my assumption is wrong?

Thanks for all the answers to my questions,,and like MedicineMan,,my only other question was going to be how big or long of a tarp would you need to cover the triangles of the hammock? Great products Brandon has offered..aweful tempting, but will wait for more reviews. Keep them coming.

WOOOOOOOOOW! You got that right. I'll have to see one of these in action. May be too much for me. Sounds like a possible deal-breaker in snow and heavy rain?

Thanks for the review. Glad you got some nice weather to try it out!

Question: I use a superfly over my BMBH, and I can make it work, though I would like it if the sides were a bit longer for better coverage while still being able to pitch it fairly high. I am able to "close" up the doors on the superfly without much fuss. You made mention that the triangle suspension on the Ridge is fairly big. Is it that much bigger that closing up doors around it would be impossible? Do you think the triangle suspension could be modded to work more like the BMBH with the rings to make doors possible?

    Thanks
I've never even seen a superfly, so can't comment on that.

Nice review for sure.... but I can't see having to buy 2 other items (quilt and tarp) that are just made for his bridge hammock

Very well written, a pleasure to read. Loaded with great information, experience, and pictures.

Acer just back from measuring the hammock. From the outside end of the metal triangles it measured 13' 3" as hung. With the hammock pulled fully horizontal 13' 7".

Without the 4" extension 13'4" as hung. Pulled flat 13' 8.5"

I guess I should add that the hammock was empty with no uq when measured. Putting someone in the hammock would probably reduce the as hung number...

I'm not sure it's true that you have to buy tarp and quilt designed specifically for the Ridgerunner. I haven't tried it yet but I expect my 3/4 length JRB Greylock 3 UQ will fit the Ridgerunner as well. I bought the quilt and tarp because I didn't have a full length UQ and wanted one, and I didn't have a tarp large enough for either of the bridge hammocks I own. I had ben putting off buying a tarp waiting to see what Brandon would offer. I bought the Cloudburst because it is a couple of ounces lighter than the JRB 11' x 10' tarp, though now I am wondering if the JRB tarp might be more versatile as it has many more tie-outs, and it's catenary cut may make for a tauter pitch.

affreeman, I believe that there were post or two in the original thread about the hammock that his quilts and tarp work better with his hammock. That would make good business sense to do that so a person would buy all 3 items from him.
