Recommendations for UQ for car camper?

Howdy all!

Would appreciate recommendations for an UQ for a car camper. Am hoping to find something comfy and warm (and prefeably inexpensive) ...doesn't need to be down. I am transitioning over from ground based Scout camping to hammick camping with Scouts. Have used the hammock on a couple outings over the summer and am sold. Love my hammocks! Have tried using my self inflating pad in the hammock but woke up hot and uncomfortable in a pool of sweat... Enough sweat that I needed to wash to hammock!

unfortunately, I don't have a thread injector. have been combing the for sale section but have not connected with a seller yet.

Suggestions would be appreciated.

Arrowhead,,has synthetic quilts and very reasonable in price..and wear very good as well,,great for anything you want to do. If you go down,,you will be paying about 190 and up on full length UQ's. Check out Arrowheads New River Quilt.

Thanks for the recs! Definitely intrigued by the KAQ New River...$155 seems like a reasonable deal for a full length UQ.

Q: How low have folks gone with this setup?

You can get a pad as well be okay with that and a DIY Poncho Liner UQ for cheap

OutdoorJunkie: yep, have used a pad a couple times so far. Ironically, the pad worked great during a week of summer Scout camp. Temps were moderate and the humidity at night was low (quite remarkable for central PA at the end of July!).

Used the pad during an outing near Harper's Ferry two weeks ago and ended up in a pool of sweat. Temps were similarly warm, however, the humidity was near 100%. Not only did I not sleep well (which is one of the main reasons I now am focused on learning more about hammock camping), but I needed to wash the hammock when we got home. Ick!

I didn't need much convincing after that experience to get a UQ... was just a matter of which one.

BTW: Just got word from AHE that they've received my order (New River) and it should ship by the end of the week. Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!!!

Next challenge: making a portable hammock stand. Unfortunately, the next outing on the Scout schedule doesn't have decent hanging options near the camp site. Need to get to Home Depot this weekend!
