Hanging, or trying to, in MD

    Hello all!

I'm from the eastern shore of Maryland. Trying to do some search-fu on hammocks to see if it's another activity, hobby, time-draining-vortex event to get involved in

This is a really great site everyone has going here. I found you guys over at BushcraftUSA. There were so many good references to you all over there I just had to see what it was all about.

Thanks to everyone here who contributes so much amazing info. This place is great!

    Rob

Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.

Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.

There are quite a few members on here that are bushcraftusa guys. So much so that I've thought about looking it up. The only thing that stops me is that horrible correlation there is between prepping and bushcraft...no offence intended at all.

This is a great place. There is more to learn than you could possibly ever wish to know, and you should definitely go to that group hang if you can...I hear they're really good for newbs...I've never gotten to attend one. Sometimes the military sucks at planning and manpower.

My forum name is Fish<><; I'm in the navy; and I hate sleeping on the ground. If I didn't need ground to walk on or measure resistance to, I think I could happily give it up.

Oh Yes you found it, this is the place.

There is an almost endless amount of info here.

I think that a few of the quickest ways to get up to speed would be:

-The Shug videos (look in the stickies). Don't need to add anything here, just watch them, you'll see.

-http://theultimatehang.com/ A great book by a terrific member here, a great overview of ALOT of the info here and will cover pretty much most of major ideas and techniques here. This alone can save you a month of reading here and give you a great foundation to build on.

-MAHHA http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...t=56948&page=3 . Come on out and see the real deal for yourself. You can see more setups than you can imagine (probably be able to actually try them out), ask about the hows and whys and maybe pick up an item or two.

    Welcome and enjoy,
    Jason
