    Webbing Strength

If my Hennessey Spectra cord is rated to 1400 lbs and the carabiners are rated to 17kN, how can I use Speer 1" webbing that's only rated to 700 lbs to make hangers?

I've been using Ed's webbing - in some form or another - ever since I've been hanging, just about. IMO it's plenty strong, but others disagree.

Ed's webbing held up my 225lbs self before gear just fine.

Because 1400 lbs is more than you need, at least in Ed's opinion. I've never had a problem with his webbing.
