Sipsey Wilderness Nov. 2-4 or Nov. 9-11

Anyone interested in a weekend backpacking trip to the Sipsey Wilderness? Either the weekend of Nov. 2-4 or Nov. 9-11 work well for me. I'm thinking of starting at the Sipsey trailhead in the early afternoon and hiking a nice easy hike up trail 200 and make camp about a half mile or so onto trail 207. Saturday we could hike up 207, across 208, and down 224 and 204 into the East Bee Branch scenic area. That would be about 10-10.5 miles on Saturday. We could camp near the southern end of trail 204(a). Sunday we could hike down trail 209 and back to the cars. Who wants to come? Which weekend would be best?

I MAY be interested, but not in that much mileage. That's a rough area and mileage comes at a price - especially carrying full packs. I mostly like to camp with some hiking, not the other way around.

IF you are just wanting to get to 204a, use the Randolph TH, go 201 to 209 to 204a. LOTS of camping spots, too.

I can't promise anything, but I'll check my calendar.

I am always tempted by a backpack trip, and the Sipsey is at the top of my "to do" list. Unfortunately, I have plans both those weekends. But I will keep an open mind in the future.

The first weekend is out for me. I'll be doing a dayhike in the area tomorrow, have a 2 night with some friends planned for the last weekend in Oct, and my non camping spouse probably won't be pleased with two weekends in a row....
