    Unable to connect to www.hammockforums.net

This past friday I was browsing the forum, succesfully viewing threads and images, etc, and then I was unable to connect. The website kept timing out. I assumed that the server had maybe gone down, until I utilized isitup.org which informed me that the hammockforums.net was not down. I am now accessing the forum through a proxy server and it is painfully slow. I know that godaddy was having some DNS issues a few days ago, so I tried accessing the forum through http://206.123.103.82/, however that also timed out. Perhapse my ip address, 72.188.212.32 from Brighthouse Networks, has somehow been blacklisted by www.hammockforums.net. Can anyone help me resolve this issue?

I'm just up the road and also on Brighthouse and have had no problems. Maybe our DNS server took a dive. When in doubt....cycle the power on your modem/router and hopefully you'll be reassigned a new IP on a different server. Worth a shot....

We get questions like this now and then. We don't blacklist IPs unless you've been a problem member...in which case this wouldn't be the first time you've heard about it. We also wouldn't ban an IP without also banning your username, so if you can connect from anywhere, the problem isn't on HF's end.

Only thing we can really recommend is to reboot your modem and router, or call your service provider.

THis happens all the time with us. For some reason we cannot connect through IE or FIREFOX but we can through google chrome with no problems ever. With us Century Link has to reset their servers and that happens once every few months or so. Hope this helps try using google chrome and if you are still having the error use a proxy server.
