    SOLD: REI New Star Backpack

REI brand “New Star” backpack, size Large (about 5100 cu in). Very durable and excellent condition through-out.

    $80 Shipped CONUS.

It has been used on a three day trip across the Grand Canyon, and twice on canoe trips. It weighs 6.5 pounds on our kitchen scales.

Google results show excellent reviews and new prices from $180 to $200, and $100 on clearance sales.

I bought this for my son when we hiked the GC. It has sat in the closet 5 years since he moved to HI.

It has a removable top pack covering the main opening that can be used as a daypack / buttpack . There is no strain damage anywhere.

    Torso and waist size?
It's not the boulders that throw us off balance, it's the pebbles beneath our feet

    backpack size

Sorry for the delay. I was baking / making lefse.

The backpack label states size L for large.

I am 6'2", 225# and it fits me in the middle of the size adjustments.

The smallest I could get the waist to go was 26-28 inches.

I wear it in the middle of it's range. Size 36 pants.

The torso is adjustable! On the back of the backpack in the spine region there are many (ten), one inch adjustments that allow the pack to fit an individuals body length. By moving this around the pack can be made to ride higher or lower. I have moved these around a bit just to creats a "change of pace on a hike. I figured this adjustability was good for me, and not found on many packs (of course, with a small weight penalty for the material).
    Hope this helps.
