    Western Washington Hang 9/12

First off a big shout out to Gary_R. for hosting a bunch of swingers.... er... maybe I should reword that...a bunch of hammock hangers

I have uploaded a few pictures. I wanted to show just how awesome it was. The first one shows the evening thermonuclear incident. I mean the sunset on the beach.

Yes, thank you so much Gary R for putting on a such a wonderful hang.

I will post what little pics I have, and add my "TR" in a day or two......

Thats if I can get my camera away from the duck with numb-chucks
I miss my 4.8Lb base weight as a ground dweller...But I sure DON'T MISS the ground.

    Awesome times guys.

Anyone get any pics of my "creative" driving on the beach by chance?

    Glad everyone had fun
I was very impressed that 14 people showed up! Enjoyed the evening around the fire with beers, talks and interesting music and hope we can do it again next year!

I did not take photos But plenty of you did so i'm hoping to see many.

So Gary and Kate - I looked into my Hennessy Zip Hyperlite Asym/Backpacker conundrum and here's what I found:

My stock weight with original suspension and 2ft straps (included): 26.7oz
Weight of my hammock ONLY: 23.2oz

    For the hyperlite asym:
Published Weight on HH website: 28oz
Published weight on REI website (where I bought mine): 25oz

Ultralite Backpacker @ REI & HH website: 30oz

I don't know what kind of material Kate's was made of, but my weights (not to mention what I paid) is pointing towards the Hyperlite Asym Zip. I haven't looked at the bag mine came in just yet though, to see if it reads Hyperlite, Hyperlite Backpacker, or just Ultralite Backpacker.

Gary thank you for hosting the hang, it was grrreat, no rain, beautiful surroundings, no critter raids. Just perfect, all the comforts of home. Thank you.

Willow wants to send you and extra big thank you, she had a blast running through the brush and under the hammocks at first light, that was the highlight of her visit with the humans and other K9's.

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for all the great info on Hammocks! And a special thanks to CreativeKate for letting me try one out for the night. Gary_R you have a great place there and make sure you PM me when the salmon start running!

On a side note, a rather bummer of a note, I got rear-ended on I5 heading home and I think they are going to total my truck. I am fine, but I had almost paid off the truck. Now it looks like I have to start all over again. Yes I have insurance and they will pay for the truck, but that won't be enough to pay for a new/used truck like I had.
