    Amsteel

So my little brother comes at me yesterday with a pretty good size coil (40ish feet) of Amsteel...bigger than the 1/8" I usually use. I'm thinking maybe 1/4".I know this stuff would make indestructible WhoOpie slangs, but I'm wondering if maybe there's not another application for this stuff.

Any options, or am I just gonna end up making a few TurboSlings?

    I'll take a set
    (for a fee)

    Tow rope for your truck.
That made me spew my tea all over my desk.
    Funny, but probably possible.

That's actually one of the more common uses for it.

if it's 1/4" amsteel blue, that's probably what i would use it for, would have a breaking strength of 8600lbs

I wouldn't use anything less than 3/8" for a truck. 1/4" would be good for an ATV.

You always want the cable to be rated higher than the winch internals.

I agree, 1/4' is too small for a full-size vehicle winch cable, but perfect for a quad winch.

At 40 foot its also probably a bit short for a winch....I said tow rope. The kind of thing that goes behind the seat for those of us that don't have a winch.
