I did 23 miles in the Ozarks (I don't recall what section it was) and loved it. It was very dry when I was there. All the lil creeks we were supposed to use to refill water were dry. But anytime in the Ozarks is great. I'd love to go again. There was 4 in my group, it was my first backpacking trip, I was severely underconditioned (over 200lbs with a 43lb pack), but I was the only one that didn't get blisters. What worked for me was toe socks under my wool socks. I found that tip a few months prior to my trip. In the future, if you try that out, I hope it helps get you the trip you were hoping for.

Thanks for sharing this with us.

(A slower pace may help too. Don't give up extended hikes )

    Claire
