    Bama hangin'

Looking for some hangers and/or a place to hang near Montgomery. I won't be up that way for the hang next weekend but I'd like to find a spot within an hour or so of Maxwell AFB if one exists. A couple of mile hike would be great but I can car-camp too.

    Any suggestions??

    Monkeytown! The Munk! My hometown.

I'd head west out toward Selma. There's some fine wilderness out there, as I recall.

Auburn, AL has a state park, Chawacla State Park, that has some hiking trails and is an OK place to camp, about and hour east of Montgomery. Fort Toulouse is just north on Montgomery, towards Wetumpka. I have hung there, and there is some short walks around there, and a cool french fort to check out. If I think of some others, I will post them.
