    Another newbie with a question

I just ordered my first hammock! The hammock I ordered has a sewn channel and my plan it to thread my whoopie slings through the sewn channel of the hammock. Would this be putting extra stress on the hammock if i attached the whoopie slings this way? If so, what would be the best way to attach my whoopie slings? This might be a pointless question but i am new to hammocks and figured I would ask. Thanks!

If you're worried about ripping just wipp the end of the hammock with the whoopie in place. If you end up running the whoopie through the channels watch for wear, at the first sign of damage just wipp it up

No reason to worry. Thousands of us hang with slings through the channel. It's a perfect way to set up.

Fudge, welcome aboard and for a great introduction to what your future will entail check out this thread.

Some enter the world of hammocks thinking this will be a piece of cake. Ratdog brings the evolution of a hammock hanger into a very accurate progression of what this life is all about. Best of luck and enjoy the fun.

Your method is perfectly fine. Probably the majority of hammocks are suspended this way.
