My buddy and I have made that work several times, then just tied a length of cord between the two "non-shared" trees and tied the tarp off the center point of that cord, keeping everything nice and centered.

I'll get pics up sometime today or tomorrow of the kids bunked up.

i have seen setups where two hangers will be side by side, using only two trees. it takes some creative wrapping but you just have to get the webbing for each hammock coming off one side of the tree

I can't help but wonder if there is a possibility of hanging some sort rope ladder from a structural ridgeline of the "top bunk". It seems like there would be no way of not kicking the person in the "bottom bunk" but it would alleviate the boost issue. I'm thinking a length of webbing with one or two large daisy chain type loops sown on. I wouldn't think you'd need more than one or two steps.

Webbing ladder concept is interesting, but I'm pretty confident the older one could "up and in" himself if he had to, but the boost is that much easier. That and the morning help "out" was part of the bargain I accepted for getting them hanging.

A little pre sleep planning (no major liquids past 6:30) and they sleep in longer while hanging than they do at home.

Awesome! Thanks for posting the pics. I'll be trying this out with my son soon when my new gear gets in. He has a cub HH.

That is nice i liked the idea and the pics. My kids would enjoy this way but i am sure they would fight to sleep on the upper hammock.

We have done this several times not and my son always wants the top. With 2 kids I see where it would be a problem.
