Road to perdition, or 'Oh woe is me'

I had a rope hammock on my deck that rotted through at the beginning of the summer, luckily without me being in it. I started looking around to replace it with another rope hammock, but ran into a good deal on an ENO DN instead. I knew nothing from 'gathered end hammocks', but decided to give it a go.
Things went downhill from there... I liked my ENO so much that I knew I'd need more! First came a DIY double layer so I could add some bottom insulation. Then of course I needed a new stand to hang it from (no suitable trees in my back yard). Then, as long as I was placing an order anyway to DIYgear, I picked up some more ripstop and made a single layer 1.9, a bugnet, and started down the whoopie path. Ebay taunted me with poncho liners, so I got one of those and made an underquilt (much more comfortable to me than the pad I was using). I've been trying to sleep outside the last weeks, but since CBS strikes around 2AM, I don't make it through the night. Ordered an Incubator to solve that problem, and now I'm waiting (im)patiently for it to arrive. Is there hope for me?

I've been lurking on HF since Jaly and never introduced myself. I'm Jay from East Lansing, MI, and I'm a hammoholic...

Don't be so hard on yourself. We all start somewhere and your collection will grow soon enough.

But yeah, I agree with SilvrSurfr, you're attached to another object by an inclined plane, wrapped helically around an axis.

    Welcome to the fold.

I had an similar experience with CBS... first time out, it wasn't too cold, but it sure makes you realize you had better address the insulation part.

Maybe you'll post some picks later of you hanging in hammock while doing some ice fishing in a shanty? Seems like MI would be cold enough for that
