    Ti Dutch Clips

The card I got with my Ti Dutch Clips has a diagram that shows "Tree Takeoff Position" is this showing the correct relative positioning of the clips and straps when removing them from a tree, or is it something else?
    see you on the trail,
    Mike

It's showing the position the strap should be in when hanging (vs. being centered) to prevent the strap from bending at a sharp angle across the clip. Think of tearing a sheet of paper down across a sharp counter edge. You want the strap to be as straight as possible as it passes through the clip.

I am going to get them remade. It actually winds up somewhere on between. I really don't recommend putting it on the right side of the tree in that diagram.

Thanks to both Gmcttr and Dutch for your replies. I thought that might be the case, from what you are saying the position of the clips should be offset from the centerline of the tree - sounds like maybe somewhere > 45 degrees but < 90 degrees the latter as shown on the diagram?
    see you on the trail,

Yeah I hope to get it updated soon. It winds up around 45 degrees.

Can someone post the diagram showing the correct way or a video of it? I'm wondering if I'm doing something incorrect (probably)

Thanks Dutch. I have the original horseshoe shaped non-TI clips. When around the tree, same set up as in that video? I've been pulling my clip up tight to the tree and then over to one side, so the webbing almost doubles back on itself. Not sure where I thought that was best. Is it? Video of a Dutch Clip like mine installed?

There have been a few pictures and vids showing it done by doubling back on itself. The way in the vid is the best way fro Ti and aluminum. It reduced the stress on the clip and the webbing. If you weigh 120 pounds it don't matter. If you weigh 22o pounds it matters quite a bit.

Great. I'll switch to the way in the video. It would also allow the straps/whoopies to then drop thru the "V" of the tarp lines. I was having the whoopies rubbing on the tarp lines and didn't like that much either.
    thanks.
