Soul and I had a great fireside discussion last night I'm sure we could have solved all of the world's problem but hiker midnight came and went and it was time for hammock bliss sleep. I woke around 140 am for the call of nature lots of condensation on the spindrift and lots of condensation on my jacks no snivler top quilt with a wind chill of 25 degrees. I was still toasty warm i even had to vent a couple of times .I think two things i could have done different was to open the spindrift a little and deploy the mamba which was still in skins other then that you guys missed a great hang.

this hike was awesome.. thanks rngn for all the tips.. wish i would have had my camera for this slightly longer than 7 mile out and back.. amazing to have found a site that remote with 4g connection. learned alot about my pack and gear. slept reasonably well in my gt sbp under a gt ff 12' diamond tarp. tried out a makeshift grizz beak which did the trick for a night and will be ordering a custom set of these for my tarp. borrowed a 2/3rds insultex underquilt and cocooned myself in my 20deg mummy. was fairly warm considering below freezing temps. had some killer food and a great hike. this trail is blazed very well. but can be confusing bc it is 3 trails weaved together both out and back. horseback, mt bike, and hiker. it also runs parrellel to the slightly more scenic and definately more technical riverbuff trail and intersects with other trails and itself on the way back regularly. sometimes resulting in a crossroad with five or six trails to pick from. gps or map and compass recommended on this hike for sure. looking forward to the next one rngn.

If you do this again, let me know. I'm only a few hours away, and have spent a few nights at Kickapoo on the ground. Would love to try it while hanging!
Will do. There is some talk about hangin at weldon springs state park next weekend. Not sure if that is as close or something you would be intrested in.
