Sorry to revive an older thread but since Ramblinrev brought up the HH Hex Fly, other than weight how does this compare to the larger fly's you all are talking about?

There are 2 HH Hex flys. One is heavier, and was an alternative you could order at the same price. It is a pretty good fly, provides a lot more coverage on the sides ( with an 11 foot ridge, I think), but it is heavier than the stock tarp, a lot. More than twice as heavy or even more, I think.

The other tarp has an even longer ridge ( 12 feet?), provides even more coverage. You can see it in my avatar pic in the upper left of my post, covering a Speer 8.5 and PeaPod. It is Sil-Nylon, weighs about 19 oz. It is not cat cut but surprisingly stable. It really is a good tarp, but costs about like other sil nylon tarps of the same weight. It has nice pockets at each guy out point to stuff your lines into.
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us....that the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now.
