How Does Adjusting SRL Affect Comfort?
I have a WBBB with a stock 98" SRL, and have been pretty happy with it. I am however interested in how an adjustable ridge line affects the lay. I've been considering trying out an adjustable.
I know it makes the hammock longer when lengthened and brings the RL closer to your face, but I'd like to hear how your adjustments affect comfort.
I would use caution lengthening the ridgeline in a WBBB as this will put extra stress on the bug netting.
Up to a point, shortening the ridgeline (increasing sag) allows for a more diagonal lay (flatter lay) compared to a tautly hung hammock body.
Agree with GMCTTR on not varying to far from the stock WBBB ridge line length. Stress points can change you sure don't want to mess up the hammock. Lots more flexibility with ridge line length on an open hammock.
