    Hammock stand: a sweet design

It's not sold in America yet but when it is I'll be getting one. I'm not sure exactly is going on with the poles and the ropes but I'm glad it works. I especially think his stake idea is ingenious. Check out his video of the stand being set up.

Looks like his poles are a tensegrity stands. Most likely to keep the pole sections together and true. A few people here have made mono pole stands that work the same way as this in that they set up a single post which has a pair of guy lines running off at angles from the hammock. Most recent video of one was taken at the Uwharrie hang last weekend.

    Looks downright "handy" alright!
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us....that the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now.

They say it will be available in the US in December - I'm ready to buy. Would like to see three or even four sectioned support poles, plus maybe a way to use the support poles as hiking poles. Something I'd start working on when I got it.

I am guessing that this is the lightest stand out there as of now?? If you live in a area were trees are far and few between this could be a very viable solution to ground dwelling.

I like this! Looking forward to seeing some folks from HF getting their hands on one and getting a reliable report.
