    Greetings from Franconia (Bavaria) - Germany =)

    Hi there!
    My name is Thomas, I'm 26 years old and I'm from germany.
    I'm really interrested in bushcraft because I love to be out in the nature and this is, how I came to hammock-camping. Well I don't own a hammock at this moment, but I've already read a lot about hammock-camping and so I decided to try it and I'm looking forward to buy one as soon as possible. And thats how I came to this forum...

    So you see I'm an absolute newbie in hammock-camping but I'm willing to learn a lot about it =) And so I hope to read some interresting stuff, and have a great time with all of you, at this forum.

    I have to say, that my english is not really well, but I will do my best, so I hope you can excuse my grammar...

    Kind regards,
    Thomas =)

    Welcome from Denver, Colorado, United States! It's always great to see the world-wide support for hammocking. Your english is great - keep the questions coming and use this site lots - it's a great resource for you as you learn.

    Welcome to the forum. I used to live in Berchtesgaden for about 3 years. I love Bavaria. There must be some great hammocking options in Schwarzwald and I know there are great spots to camp in the Sumava region of Czech Republic.

    Hi! =)
    Eine Gegend die ich sehr empfehlen kann, ist die Fränkische Schweiz! Sie ist nur etwa eine halbe Stunde von mir entfernt und landschaftlich wirklich sehr schön!

    [A region which I can really recommend is the franconian switzerland. It is only about 30 minutes away from my hometown and the landscape is really great there!]

    @ brambor:
    Nice to hear, that you like bavaria that much =)
    I have to say, that I've never visited the Schwarzwald or the sumava region, but I think you could be right, that there are maybe some great spots for hammocking!

    @ scottpash
    Well I think german is a really hard language to learn. Even the german people have sometimes problems with their language

    @ all:
    Thanks for the warm welcome! =)
