I'm on my way to Boston but in my carry-on is my just delivered camo cuben tarp. This weekend I will find two trees there (perhaps in Boston Common) and post some pictures.

I will save my description of it for that post, because I could go on for pages telling how nice this looks!!!!!

Again, this was a limited run from another project at Cuben Fiber, so Adam only got what was left. He's getting more samples in the next month and then he hopes to lock down a regular supply of some kind.

As far as the tarp itself, I am very impressed with the quality of the workmanship. One thing that's kind of odd is the weight. You know how when you heft an object and you can tell the quality by the weight? This feels counterintuitive. It feels like a few grocery bags in weight. Which is why its such an amazing material.

Some more info: It can hold tens of thousands of pounds of pressure when used as sail material (It started as the secret weapon on the America's Cup series and then moved into sails/windsurfing/kites). North Sails purchased the rights to the material (I used to use windsurfing sails built by them). According to Wikipedia, "Cubic Tech Corporation has the exclusive rights to develop and sell "Cuben Fiber" type laminates for all non-sailing applications".

I would love to see the green....

Great pictures! Makes me wonder about getting a tarp with doors. My hex works for now though, have a camo hex in the mail.

I have been very silent about the new camo that is coming. I am the one that is *hopefully* the first one with the new camo that's coming in. Adam described it to me as a Realtree knockoff as far of the looks of the camo. He's a real nice guy to deal with. I will definitely post pics when I get the word that the material is in. I do think I am first in line for this new camo and I ordered the Winter Palace. Boomer your tarp and MAD777 are awesome. I have been trying to forget my order or my anxiety will overwhelm me
Dogbone, post pics when your awaited beauty comes in for sure!

They even mentioned possibly producing a product with a leaf pattern. I'm holding off on my Winter Palace for a couple of months for the new fabric!
We can only hope that the camo resembles Realtree camo! Sample below:
