I recommend against this method. The rings will over time damage the rope which could lead to butt meets ground. I have a Hennessey set up that way and I can see damage, it hasn't broke yet but the potential is there. I recommend either whoopie slings or if you really like the rings and biners method then attach the rings to the hammock and use really long tree straps and run those through the rings.

Oh and welcome from North Ga!

Welcome from up in Ball Ground. You have made a substantial start, you have the "beginners list", now to practice. Hope you continue to enjoy, and as before stated, look for group hangs, great places to see how others do things.

Welcome from Denver! I've ALWAYS been a side-sleeper too, but I love sleeping on my back in my hammock as well as on my side (and infinite variations in between). Love it.

Welcome from Kennesaw....I have a few different manufactures of hammocks if you get the urge to buy more and want to test before. Look in the vendor section of the forums for quilts vendors. Bunch of awesome cottage guys/gals here on HF.
