    $2.35 Buys Loyalty

Thought I'd share another short story of the great cottage vendors available to our community.

I recently placed an order at DIYGearSupply for some DIY hammock supplies. I got an email this morning from the kind folks there letting me know they were refunding me $2.35 because they were able to get slightly cheaper shipping. Totally unexpected. I would assume that nearly anyone that could get cheaper shipping would absorb the remaining as "handling" charges.

$2.35 isn't much, but it showed me that the fine folks at DIYGearSupply are there to provide fair, honest transactions with their customers. I've never had anyone take the time and money out of their own pockets to do this before. I'll definitely be back to DIYGearSupply.com and will recommend them to others, too.

That is awesome, I must say since joining the forums I am amazed at the great people and cottage vendors I have had the pleasure to meet, talk with or buy from.

I shop with Scott as much as I can. Fantastic person, fantastic service and a #1 vendor. Big +1 here!

It is a pretty unique theme on HF. You dont have to search far to find recomendations to the cottage vendors on this site. In a way it makes it march harder to choose who to buy from. Small business trying to produce a better product, at a reasonable cost, with impeccable customer servce.
Careful this type business plan could spread...

Scott did the same for me a while back. He has always been available for questions and advice too. One of many great vendors represented here.

Good folks, good products, good service, good communication ... Um, I think I detect a pattern here. Thanks for sharing another good story.

I have had the same thing happen to me. I think it was Scott but it might have been one of the others but either way... I try to default to buying from our cottage folks first and if they don't have it then I'll look elsewhere. I just spent the night sleeping in my shiny new Ridgerunner (ridiculously comfortable! ).
