Re: Handy Hammock - The Ultralight Hammock Stand

I think I messaged the right guy... But I'm in, I have been following this stand since it first came out, but shipping charges had me turned off... This seems like a sweet deal...

Yep. Message me. We are 4 folks away from Jason's goal of at least 20 members. When we get there, I'll pm everyone who contacted me first with how to order, then make an announcement here for the rest of the group.

Now I can take that Route 66 ride and not have to worry about where to hang in the desert!

And I can hang in my own yard! I do have two trees, but one is in the front and the other in the back. I have considered getting rid of the house in between.... Priorities

I'll also be able to hang in my local parks, which now outlaw hammocks

Just wanted to chime in here that this thread mentions 'group buy' a lot, but this is actually more of a vendor sale. Handy Hammock is offering a discount if enough people agree to purchase.

Group Buys are a little different, in that they are for purchasing things in bulk that are then re-shipped from the organizer of the buy. The buys generally have set rules and requirements. This one isn't really like that...

    Just a simple distinction.

True. This is a Vendor Sale, with me helping out with the posting (I get nothing for this, just like a group buy). I started this as a group buy, (on other forums this would still qualify), however, not on this forum, which is why the mods had me put it in the vendor category.

It would be nice if Jason could afford to sell these at cost and ship them over, but he needs the capital to pay for more stock and start-up costs. We discussed whether to ship them to me in bulk, or he would do it and his thought was that it would be harder for customs. This one does have set rules and requirements, 20 members for 1 of two sets (with a color option).

Thanks for making the distinction clearer to the forum members. I have "mis-written."
