    Dual use UQ?

    My thought is this:

A down vest with attachment points and velcro on the arm holes. Close the arms and attach to the hammock for an upper body UQ.

Then consider down sleeves with attachment points and a velcro seam running their full length. When you get where you are going you open them, attach them to each other, and you have a lower body quilt.

I just wanted some HF critical thinking before I start on this project.

    Thanks!

JacksRBetter have the Snivler line of TQs that double as down vests. And I believe someone here has made a UQ/vest combo, not certain who. As for the down sleeves, they would either be too bulky to be usable as sleeves or they would be too thin to keep you warm during the night as an UQ. Best bet would likely be to make them fit as leggings/booties.

I just bought a down jacket in big and tall 3xl to turn into a TQ or UQ.
I am going to take it to a seamstress and have them remove the arms. I want to put chinch cord in the neck and sleves to be able to chince it all up. I will have the sleeves to use as leggings to sleep in when it's cold and the jacket will be like a 3/4 TQ .
I figure for $50 I can't go wrong on this project.

Anybody else with helpful thoughts or suggestions. I think I will start this next week.
