That's exactly how I do my lines. Good video, I'll be referencing it in the future.

It's worked well for me for a couple of seasons now. YMMV

I have picked up a CF tarp and have not set it up yet. I will start by trying your system out and go from there.

Does the shock cords help keep the tarp tight better than just using zing it without shock cords?

I like it, even more simple than a soft shackle prusik and just as easy to put on/take off a d-ring.

    Nice work.

Ya, the idea is that it will give a bit under windy/rainy/snowy conditions and go back to tight. It's just a cheap easy way of installing tarp tensioners.

What kind of knots do you tie to keep the Zing It attached to the shock cord? I could see a simple overhand knot, but not very pleasing. A snell knot might work pretty well, but might slip over time. Or maybe a clinch that is somehow stitched to the Zing It.

You could use an alpine butterfly. That should work very well.

I used a double fisherman's bend on the shock cord.

Clove Hitch....use a clove hitch on both ends of the shock cord and you can put the tensioner any where on the line.
