    Need more stuffing?

I've got an older WL full length synthetic UQ. I've noticed that the stuffing kind of bunches up and I end up with spots that don't have any stuffing and spots that are stuffed full of stuffing. I spread it out, but it just gets bunched up again. Anyway, I'm thinking about opening one end and stuffing some more (or something different) in there. I'm really thinking about just buying some down, but I've got a HG Incubator on the way, so I don't really want to spend a bunch of money on down. The WL will just be used for an extra when I go car camping with a buddy or something, so weight is really not going to be an issue. Can I just cut open an old pillow and steal the stuffing from it? What would be a good "cheap" option to stuff in those baffles?

I've heard of people "fluffing" their down items in a dryer on low with a few tennis balls. Might try that first and see if it makes it better, before you start tearing into it.

Did you try washing it first?

Fluffing works sometimes but when a quilt of mine seemed "tired" it was suggested to me that I wash it. Did so and when it was dry, it fluffed as good as new. Body oils and dirt that work their way into the down can be a fluff killer but a proper washing can save the day.

Oops. Jumped to a solution before I understood the problem. Missed the main point that it was synthetic.

I didn't try to wash it first. I'll give it a go.

If you're like me, I wasn't sure about the best way to do it and found this article to be very helpful.

    This is synthetic, not down

If Marty (ie. WL) is taking care of you on this, what's left is a lesson on what treatment of what material doesn't work for this application. OP's first reads as though an (early?) WL use of a synthetic fill did not stand up to prolonged intended use. Who is to blame? I dunno, but it seems WL is making you whole.

Thanks for reading better than I did.
