Camp Pouch is a great site, you don't even realize your in Staten Island. It's a New York Treasure.

You should be able to find some coastal area near Sandy Hook beach NJ that you could put a fishing pole in the ground and get away with it. Thats if the beach is still there

I remember a post about a guy who would hang in central park in the canopy of trees. Although won't be feasible with your guitar and other gear.

I know you want to hang, but options are very limited in one of the biggest cities in the world. What about a hostel? There's one in the area of 34th and 8th somewhere....or maybe it was 44th...I am sure google could tell you.

What about gateway national park in Brooklyn?

I'm willing to do that as well. I've been looking at them and have found quite a few that would work nicely. Good suggestion.

With apologies if this article has already appeared in this thread.

I don't know what Staten Island is like, after the storm, but there are many potential opps for stealth camping there in a positively rural setting.
