I do. But not until May now. Everything's frozen solid here now!

oh yeah! way better than taking a tent in a kayak! plus its so much easier to hang the hammock on trees by the river banks! no need to look for flat land!

FYI, there's a whole subforum about paddling in the donating member's off-topic section that peelo linked. That thread is _just like this one_, only with a couple of hundred replies.

We try to keep the main forums (General) focused specifically on hammocks.

Both kayak and hammock also backpacking. The trick in this area of Lake Mead,Havasu etc. is finding trees but boulders do work. On the Colorado river tamarisk work just fine. If I go to the ground backup is hooped bivy with pad lightweight sub 3lbs but really weight is not a problem kayaking as I look at gear like a lightweight backpacker functional multi usage.
    Enjoy both are fun.

Long time kayaker, first time hanger. Just ordered my first hammock with hopes of replacing the tent/ground setup used when kayaking. Sea kayaking along varied coastlines could present "challenges" when it comes to finding places to hang, but I'd rather search for a hang site than a tent site. I am also planning on using the hammock and tarp as an improvised ground setup when necessary. Paddle halves can be used as uprights to support the end(s) of the tarp and hammock.....improvised tent. I also have an old aluminum "A" frame tent with both 78" and 60" long x 1/2" sections that can be used as well. Wouldn't take up much room in the yak to bring a pair of either along "just in case". They can also be used for a "porch" on the tarp when hanging. At least that's the plan. Time will tell. Just received an email saying my WBBB has shipped!!!!!!!!!

I cant wait to get into Kayaking. The funds is whats holding me back right now. Perhaps in the spring I might be able to get a couple of them for me and my wife to plan some trips with.
