    I think you've got something there - the grosgrain and the tarp fabric each have different stretch to them. I believe most DIY tarp edges are hemmed rather than taped to avoid the weight of the grosgrain but it also avoids two different stretches.

    By any chance were you using a grosgrain from a local store rather than from one of our DIY suppliers. There's a big difference in quality.

    I just took another look at the pics - is it grosgrain or bias tape that you used to edge it with?

    I dont remember anything like that when I was sewing but I was taking a look at the ridgeline seam and I noticed it wasnt straight but it does a sort of curve

    Does it change the way the tarp functions at all? (Might let it flap in a strong breeze, but, then again, might not.) I avoid looking at my mistakes by closing my eyes when I go to sleep.
