yep, summer quilts are the bomb.
i always wanted to make a PLUQ, but i don't have a PL and don't sew.
so, i just broke down purchased some.
i'm happy i did too. they can also be used as liners for other quilts in cold weather.

Paul at Underground Quilts can make you a nice custom set of 50* quilts. Matched with 2QZQ's underquilt protector for blocking the winds, would make for an awesome setup.
Those 50* quilts pack down so small too, and the underquilt protector packs down to about the size of a grapefruit.
