    trekking poles instead

I leave them at home and use trekking poles. I have a pair of Peak UL's by Komperdell (12 oz) that I use. I drilled a whole in the top, Gorilla glued a nut into it and bolt them to my hammock. (I leave the tip alone and have no issues yet). Total weight 12.9oz. Considering the benefits of using trekking poles I consider it a win-win situation.

I have the smaller foot-end bars nested in the larger head-end poles which slide very nicely and securely into the Molle loops on the side of my pack. The short section gets stowed in the same side pouch.
