I bought a handful of these mini line locks that Lawson Equipment sells about 2 months ago to make the setup of my tarp easier. After over a dozen setups in sun, rain, snow/ice, I have to say they work great! I use slippery zing-it for my tarp lines and the mini line locks work perfectly. It takes just a few seconds to adjust and they hold well enough that I had my stakes pulled out of the ground by high winds - the line locks didn't change position at all.
They're cheap and also weigh very little. The only bad thing about them is they're tiny and easy to lose before you hook them up. Yes, I lost 2 of them somewhere.
Adjustment is a snap in winter weather - you don't need to take your gloves off to adjust them.
