    Algoma Hammock Post

    Anyone used this hammock post?
    http://www.hammocks.com/hammock-stan....cfm?RNtt=post

It lists a 6 ft. 3.75 in height. I'm trying to figure out if that's above ground height, or total height, where 18 inches or so is below ground.

It looks pretty slick, but would only be of use to me if I can get a full 6 ft+ off the ground. 18 inches lower and several of the hammocks I use wouldn't work as well.

If you've used one and can provide some additional info on the height, I'd greatly appreciate it.

The photo appears to only show about `4'-4.5' above ground.

Yah, that's the feeling I was getting too. I'm thinking it won't work for me but wanted to see if anyone could confirm one way or the other.

That post appears to be optimized for spreader bar hammocks not for gathered end and brazilian hammocks IMHO.

Hmmm to bad it was not a tad bit taller.....I bet i could get the HOA to approve something like that.
When the wife asks, I simply say "Shug made me do it".

I know, it's a pretty nice looking system. I agree with others, though, it looks optimized for spreader bar casual hammocks, not necessarily our setups.

The site says it's for spreader bar hammocks only, not gathered end or Brazilian hammocks.
