    continuous loop with whoopie hooks

i was wondering is there any reason why having whoopie hooks on a continuous loop through the sewn in channels of the hammock would be a bad thing?

i recived a set of whoopie hooks from my secret santa, and don't want to change the whoopie slings i have now or even take them apart to add them seeing the guys at whoopieslings.com did a great job on them.

i'm still learning to work with amsteel, and don't want to chance messing them up

i can't see any reason this wouldn't work. am i missing something?

also it seems to me that even though the tail end of my whoopies would be out in the rain that the hooks would work as a drip stop and keep my hammock dry.

    thanks in advance

That should work and act as a drip stop as you're thinking.

That works well. The only real point to having it on the whoopie sling is it acts like the bead.
However it is real easy to snip off the finished end, Pull out the bury, add that hook, and redo it.

When stuff and unpack the hammock from the stuff sack there may be a very very small chance the hook can catch on something. Probably not enough to do any damage but I'm just brain storming.

I just got a whoopie hook system to it works really well. I see it helpful if you want to store the hammock differently. The hook never catches on anything it works quite well.

I am thinking about this myself. I placed an order for a set of whoopie hooks. And when I get them, I am thinking the same, put them on the loops. My reason? I have made a set of amsteel dog bones for use with my Turtledog stand. Right now, it goes, hammock, with continuous loop, soft shackle to dog bone, with the end of the dog bone around the top rail of the Turtledog stand. If I put the hook on the loop, then I can eliminate the soft shackle, which will make set up easier and quicker. Then anytime I'm not using the stand, I can attach the whoopies and use them.....RR

If you put the Whoopie Hook on the whoopie sling, you can use the whoopie for multiple hammocks. Putting the whoopie hook on the continuous loop makes it kind of permanent; i.e., non-transferable. I'm sure Dutch won't object if you buy a set of Whoopie hooks for each hammock!
