Let me say that I want to make sure that everyone knows I am in no way bashing the MMP at all. Rat and his brother have one and a lot of other folks have one that seem to work out fine. My dad said I could tear up a brass monkey so it might very well be the stays are breaking by my error of loading or lifting the pack off the ground. In any event, maybe I need to change my username to atom bomb.

How do you think I got the name Brute... I could break a 2 1/2 bolt with an open end wrench... didn't take too many bolts for me to get a nickname and a reputation of "getting it open, or tearing it up"... When I broke something it was always referred to as being "brutalized" so brute just stuck

That is funny Brute. Me and Rat were just posting on another thread that that the product of two forces is greater than the sum of both forces

That's the first I heard about repeated failures, Wildman! I thought you were all set after you inquired about where to get replacement carbon stays.

We have since stopped using carbon stays, in favor of aluminum stays... kinda like an enlongated version of Rat's lumbar stays that start in the belt and angle up to the outer corners. In the Hydration model, the stays are hidden between the layers.

How about you send your pack back for a free replacement?

I really like the Kifaru products... I learned about them after making the first Molly Mac Pack, and then found out that their MOLLE panel pack predated the MMP! They are long on gadgetry, though.

I wish I could make the MMP less expensive. Instead, I have tried to keep it simple. Thinking about running a sale, though...

I do like, however, how their panel has some side buckles to give you the option to run some horizontal straps. Still loving my MMP though.
