The illusive WM mystery nylon...

I've found some of the end roll nylon at my WM. I can push a little air through it, it's not ripstop, but seems to be fairly lightweight. I was looking at this for a tarp, but the silicone/mineral spirits treatment is scaring me off, since I don't really have a garage to do that in. I suppose I could always move my wife's van out of the carport for the weekend...

So I'm looking for some encouragement in this endeavor. Is it worth the try? Is making my own sil worth the mess? How big of an undertaking is the siliconing process (absolutely zero DIY skills here)?

the sil process doesnt seem so bad I am kinda in the same boat as you I have ripstop i can get at Joann's but I don't know the weight of it, but i think it would hold up.

Never done it but with the reasonable price of sylnylon seconds, it would have to be a special color or pattern (good camo) for me to try it.
