    The Ridgerunner is Here!

I broke down and bought one while they were on sale and it arrived today. I didn't have a lot of time so I'll post better details later. For now I'm pretty impressed. I didn't really do any research. I just pulled the trigger. I didn't even know it had saddlebags until last week when the thread popped up.

Right off the bat I found it more comfortable than my BMBH UL. It could be that extra section in the head-end spreader bar. I'll try it again without it. The bridge hammock is still so much more tippy than a gathered end. I'll have to get used to it.

I'm 6'1" and found I was pretty much end-to-end. I didn't feel cramped, though. I was a little surprised how it narrows in the middle but again, something I think I'll just have to get used to.

I'm looking forward to getting some time in it and plan on taking it to the 3rd Annual Florida Hang next weekend.

Congrats on a great new piece of gear. I really like my RR. I find it more comfy with the spreader bar in, but it definitely varies from person to person.

Some things do take some getting used to, like the narrowing in the middle, but once you get used to it, you'll grow to love them all.

If you haven't yet, it's definitely worth considering the lynx UQ. The fit between the two is amazing.

And like Breyman,,sooo comfy,,however, I happen to love the RR with the 4 inch extension out. I am 6' and lanky in size, 165lbs, can sleep on both sides, back and have even laid on my stomach even tho I am not a stomach sleeper at all. This is one amazing hammock and I considered the same about my BMBH UL, but so much flatter lay and so much better seeing out the sides, and the width for me with the 4 in. extension is perfect with absolutely no shoulder squeeze. Hope you enjoy it as much as the rest of us has as I think you will.

Me too...that deal was just too good to pass up. I'm about to hit the back yard with it. Gotta choose between it and the HH Explorer UL for the FL Hang. I'm leaning heavily toward the ridgerunner just because I can cram a pad in there for insulation (double layer) if it actually turns off cold. I'm still getting used to the position, view, saddle bags, etc. Still gotta figure out how to squeeze it under my winter tarp.

You can try mine. I predict a lot of hammock hopping that weekend.

I'm going to find tall trees and stack hammocks. I want to hang in my Lite Owl, Snipe, and now the Ridgerunner. I guess I'd better bring a couple of tarps to see which works best. I'll probably bring the Jarbridge and Incubator. I found the JB worked better on the BMBH due to the rectangular shape of both.
