This forum has so much information available that it can be mind boggling. I like to search things out for myself but sometimes...well, you just can't find the answer if you're not using the correct terminology. I'm happy and proud to be a member of this forum where people are so friendly and willing to help.
I give a hat's off to the moderators for all of their time and effort to keep this the friendly, helpful, and RESPECTFUL place that it has become.

Something that might be helpful for us newbs would be a stickied acronym list. I'm pretty handy with google, but some of this stuff is mentioned so often that finding a good result can get painful.

You are obviously a noob. We old timers are very disciplined in our hammock spending habits and, even more importantly, we've learned to talk through all of our hammock purchases with our significant other in advance to avoid any misunderstanding.

Thanks for the great forums. I have already complete my first DIY project x2 (one for me, one for my son). I look forward to reading, learning, and more DIY projects!

    Thumbs up

Funny how more and more often when I google search camping info I end up getting results that reference the HF.
This place just rocks and is overflowing with excellent info.

It has always been hard for me to ask someone how to do something, but I have no problem watching an experienced person do something I wish to learn how to do. It took no time at all for me to realize that true pros were on here all of the time, and best yet someone else often asked the question I wanted an answer to, so I have gleaned tons of information as well as inspiration to do several things. I would be very disappointed if suddenly "dumb" questions were no longer tolerated, as many of us benefit from the responses. Plus, sometimes a new member comes up with the next hot item. Happy hanging, folks.
