Don't get me wrong. I know how much of a challenge it can be hiking in the rain. I'm just wondering what advice you guys would give someone that might find themselves hiking in those conditions.

A few possibilities that come to mind are... hiking slower to prevent overheating as well as ventilating rain gear & removing layers.
Removing layers is easyier said than done when it's raining though.

    Thanks for asking.

It's true. Everything you've read so far. Weather, new friends, good hiking. Fantastic raffle. Great food. Photo ops all around. I must say I was so impressed by the shear number of hangers who know soooo much about hammocking. To be able to talk gear for four days nonstop was impressive to say the least. I am surprised that no one has mentioned Hickery's dessert. Nothing says yum like a spoonful of Spotted ****. I'm just saying. Thanks all.

Did that get opened up? I missed it if it did.

I got a nice Thanks! type letter from the FoGH Organization this week for the donation we made to them with the raffle proceeds from the hangout. Thought it was worth sharing with everyone.

Raffle proceeds were ~$1000, and after the park expenses and porta-john rental FoGH received $800.

It's nice that we're able to give back to the park for hosting us. Thanks to everyone that attended.
