Question Confused about snakeskins and the 'V' setup

I'm hoping the more experienced hangers can help me.

I have my tarp setup with the 'V' so I don't have my hammock lines hitting it. I just got some snakeskins for stowing and setting up the tarp. I can not figure out how to pull back the sankeskins fully when the tarp is deployed. The two ropes just won't let it slid back. It looks like snakeskins only work on a single rope setup. Do I have to abandoned the 'V' to use snakeskins?

No, you don't have to abandon th 'V'. Just bunch up the snake skin at the very end of your tarp and the beginning of your RL.

You can't see it very well in this picture, but I use Dutch Stingerz, so I always have the 'V', but you can see my python skin at the end of my tarp.

For me it's better to abandon the snakeskins and just use some small loops of shockcord to contain the tarp. It's a lighter, cheaper, simpler and more breathable setup.

    "skins" will work with "V".
depending on how you form the "V".
i have the reattachment point 3" out from the end of the tarp RL attachment.
i use tarp FLYZ, but it can be achieved by tying a fixed loop about 3" away from the tarp.
after the RL is placed around the tree, reattach the end to the loop.
that will make the "V" become a "Y" and give your skins a place to be scrunched up and be off the tarp and out of the "V".
i hope this is helpful, __bob__

Thanks everyone. So it sounds like if I make the loop my prusick knot is on longer and attached the end that comes around the the tree to that loop, I will create a parking spot for the skins. I will try to set this up in the backyard this weekend.
I may try the strips at some point, but I like that the snakeskins suck up my guylines too. Plus, I just bought them.

I have tried the shock cord loops and came back to snakeskins. Now mine are DIY made from noseeum so breathable isn't a problem. I always had issues with loose guy lines. With loops you have go to every tieout and roll it up and cinch it. with skins you can roll the tarp with loose lines and it all stays in a neat little package. Anyway that is my experience with loops.

I like the loops, I just roll the tarp like I have seen other people do for their skins, then when I am done I hank the ends and tuck them in a roll/fold...

I use the "v" and don't have any trouble with the skins. I just bunch them up at the end of the tarp.
