Crazy new item on 2QZQ website

...ZQ here...We have added a new item which was designed by accident. We are calling it a Pillowcase Hat.

Several years ago, I made a polarfleece pillowcase for Tim's hammock pillow. Last year I made him a new pillow smaller than the one he had been using. He took the pillowcase and put the new pillow into it in the other direction which gave him extra fabric in the length. When sleeping outside one night, he needed extra warmth for his head. Tim pulled the extra length of the pillow case up over his head. Not only did it add the needed warmth, it kept the pillow in place, right under his head....it didn't move, because it was now attached to his head!! Crazy but intriguing concept!

We thought maybe others might like the idea...so I bought some burnt orange polarfleece (Joey's color of choice) and made a new one..adding a few more inches to the length. We will be offering it in the burnt orange and camo polarfleece. For the warmer months, I might get some cotton fabric.

We have also added a snow stake bag that can fit up to 8 12" snow stakes.

If interestred, check them out on the Misc Accessories page on our website.

I like it. What about putting a draw string on it so it can triple duty as a stuff sack till it gets in the hammock as a dbl duty pillow, head warmer?

That is neat. I try doing that with my fleece, but it slips, changes shape, falls all the way down my face, this is a more elegant weapon for a more civilized age.

Yes, we thought about putting a drawstring in the case...for multi use...but Tim likes the wider fabric end so it holds some shape to stay off the nose for breathabliliy. I'm not sure how tight the polarfleece would draw shut. I guess one could still put items in the case for storage without the drawstring. ZQ

I have two stuff sacks that have polar fleece on one side over the nylon. I use the fleece side as a pillow and as storage for my clothes. I find the fleece breathes much better than the nylon as a pillow case. The ideal of making it long enough to use over my head is intriguing. I have used a fleece jacket that way more than once. Your invention should be very handy. ;-)
    YMMV

Yes, when I went for the fabric...I was looking at all the color choices, and saw the orange and thought of you!!! Tim wanted a color that would stand out when getting in the hammock....orange is a perfect color!!
