    hanging in Winnipeg MB

    A rather strange request:
I'm taking my mum to Winnipeg to visit my brother and am wondering if anyone has a hammock stand that I can borrow for four days. I looked at buying one there, and then having it shipped home, but, holy cow are they expensive in Canada! I considered ordering one from the US, going and picking it up and shipping it by bus to and from Winnipeg but that would be about as much as buying a new one.
I will be arriving on March 1 and leaving on March 5 and using an ENO single.
I can't imagine sleeping on a hard surface for four nights when one just about cripples me. Can anyone help?

    Thanks in advance!

Anyone? If you don't have one to lend, would you be able to recommend somewhere I could buy one? My brother doesn't have a clue...

Would it be within the realm of possibility to make one of the TurtleLady/TurtleDog stands on site with materials obtained from the local big box hardware store?

Do you have options to hang from the ceiling joists of an unfinished basement?

    Cheers

If you don't mind carting it there with you, I have a Turtledog you could borrow.

Thanks NWOHanger, I will take you up on that unless someone right in Winnipeg comes forward.
I would love to build one while I'm there but don't really have the know how to build stuff like that. My sister-in-law would probably shot me if I tried hanging from the walls or ceilings ( I must admit to pondering that but...I like life!)
how much does the turtle dog stand weigh approximately?

Each side probably weighs about 4-5 lbs. The bar is about the same I would think.
You can come check it out and see if it's portable enough for you anyway.

that would be great! I wouldn't be able to come until later next week because of work committments. If you want to PM me your address and phone number, and when is a good time to call, we can make arrangements. I'll probably ship it there and back via Greyhound, mum and I are flying. That's really awesome of you! Thank you.
