Suspension ? MSH with just webbing and binder

Hey guys. Been doing this a while and figured I'd ask here. I'm using webbing around the tree, the using my carabiner on my hammock for the toggle part of a Marlin spike hitch. Is this ok. It's worked so far for me but don't want to have any problems going forward. Thanks

Totally fine and simple way of doing it. You should have zero problems with that. Btw welcome to the forums!

Nothing wrong with that. It's commonly done. Even with a carabiner on the whoopie, then msh with the carabiner works as well for greater distances between trees.

Glad to see someone else does it this way. I tried it a few days ago and it made me wonder why I carry toggles..

I've always used a lightweight carabiner instead of a toggle on the tree straps. I attach the carabiner onto the tree strap using a MSH.

Normally use a Whoopie Sling clipped into the carabiner and the other end of the whoopie to the hammock - so tree straps can be shorter.

If anyone finds a climbing rated carabiner weighing less than 23g (C.A.M.P. USA Nano 23) please let me know. HYOH!

Re: Suspension ? MSH with just webbing and binder

    Also another option is
Grey line is whoopie sling, red is tree strap... Carabiner is basically a toggle that locks the whoopie in place...
Live, Laugh, Love, if that doesn't work. Load, Aim and Fire, repeat as necessary...
