Do you use a camp chair?

Do you bring a camp chair with you or just sit in your hammock?

Re: Do you use a camp chair?

It depends. When car camping I like to have the chair since I don't like my hammock gear too close to the fire. When backpacking I just sit in my hammock.

    Monarch chairs rock!

    ( oh I crack myself up... )

    .
So many trees, so little time...
We follow where the Swamp Fox guides,
    His friends and merry men are we;
And when the troop of Tarleton rides,
We burrow in the cypress tree.
The turfy hammock is our bed,
Our home is in the red deer's den,
    Our roof, the tree-top overhead,
For we are wild and hunted men.

And you're suitably named to use one of these chairs.

    You sit in your stool?!?!?!

For backpacking I just sit on the ground (on a pad or something) or in my hammock.

I've looked for a stool identical or similar to this but I think I'm at the upper limit of the weight range for this (225). Working to loose about 25 of that before June but still not too trusting.

I don't carry a chair on solo trips, but if there's going to be a group I make sure I have my monarch chair.
