I have tried to buy one of those 3 times... They are always sold out when I go...

ROCK ON!! only 18oz. And it can hold up a big boy. We can not all be twigs which is what those others support like the REI one.

I'll be ordering that and strapping it to back of backpack.
When the wife asks, I simply say "Shug made me do it".

Group hangs I probably need a beefier chair for sitting around the fire if car camping, but if a group hike and hang I bring my Grand Trunk micro stool modified with a cuben seat to get the weight down to ~8.5oz. That is the stool I take for most solo trips too as I cook away from where I sleep and I want to be able to save my knees.

Canoe camping I'll take a stool. Car camping for the weekend a chair. And when I go for a week back east to run whitewater, I pack the fold up lounger to laze around the campground. The hammock is too far from the fire and the rest of my buddies. They don't hear my snores and I don't hear theirs

    Kayak Versatility

One of the greatest features of the Coosa Kayak is the comfort of the chair while in the boat:

...and versatility of chair while in the camp:

And you're suitably named to use one of these chairs.

I'll second the Alite Monarch Butterfly... It's a good chair and really isn't that difficult to get in and out of.

That depends on ones' age and ability to do squats - I tried one of those and darn near killed myself...

I'm still trying to figure out what I'm going to do for a chair when the hammock is too far away. Cooking is solved, I'm making one of those shelves that goes on a tree!

I use a folding stool similar to the JRB. About a lb but never weighed it because it's going no matter what. At that age where sitting to remove shoes, clothes and doing foot maintainance is so much easier off a stool. Then too it is nice having something to sit on around the fire.
Most of us end up poorer here but richer for being here. Olddog, Fulltime hammocker, 365 nights a year.

I have got to get me one of these. When I do,,not telling the wife,,then when she packs with me,,will let her carry her JRB stool,,and I will sneak this with me and pull it out and put it together,,and sit in it while she has her stool... and let the argueing begin!!!
