I use my hammock on solo trips, if going with a group, I use the Ultralight compact chair, as is weighs 8 oz. With mods can get it down to 6 oz. It is on the outside of my pack, so I can pull it out for breaks, I don't need to put a pad in it to use it.

On group trips, which is most of them for me, I carry the Crazy Creek Hex chair. It's a little heavy, but it serves triple duty...In addition to sitting in it, I stow it right against my back in the pack in lieu of a frame. I also have an under quilt of sorts that I rigged up using an Exped Multimat. When it's cold, I put the chair (among other things) between the hammock and the so-called UQ to add a little extra insulation.

Car camping, I take my bag chair with the foot rest. When it is cold I put my thermarest on it, and boy is that comfy, can almost sleep in it. Backpacking I take the slinglite, that is such a great chair. It is so light and I love to have a nice back rest at the end of a hike. It is bulky, but well worth it to strap onto my pack.
    Happy Hangin!!!

Yes it is no doubt about it !!!!!

And at the end of a 7-800 mile day in the texas heat it's worth every penny !
I also have friends that have used the same chair for 30 years. So that helps average it out.

I haven't used that one, but I will say the monarch is a well built product. I'd buy another without question. As for it coming higher up your back, the dimensions are bigger.

One of my favorite parts of the monarch is the rocking part though...

The Mantis is great; at the last group hang we were all sitting around, some getting into the sauce, and we decided that we would have a "Chair Balancing Contest". Those with the butterflies lost to the one who had the Mantis. The cheater legs help with the getting in and out also...

I vote for the Big Agnes Helinox / Chair One. Not the cheapest thing out there but is bigger seat-wise than the Monarch or REI versions. Light weight, comfy and sets up quick.

I use a roll a chair with a backrest. For $50 bucks, these are great chairs, very comfortable:
