One last clarification before my decision

Ive done a 180 in my thoughts on my first hammock. Now im thinking that a one hammock for all seasons here in SE Tenn is my ticket. Spending more to boot.

So im thinking a BBird 1.1dbl xlc and superfly to get started. Will add the UQ a little later after saving a little cash.

Im 5.9 and fluxuate between 190 and 200.

Uses will backpacking to overnights local to whatever.

    Any changes or thoughts?

    Thanks,
    John

So what's your question... Seems like that's just a statement... A very good and well thought out statement...

Sounds like you'll be all set. Keep in mind that the XLC has a longer ridgeline since it is an 11 foot hammock. The Superfly has a RL of 132 inches IIRC so you will only have around 11 inces or so of tarp extending past the ends. This has the potential of limiting how high above your hammock you can set up your tarp. Not a huge deal but a tarp with a 144 inch RL would give a little more coverage and allow you to set up you tarp higher if you wanted. Not sure if WB will be offering tarps with longer RL's but I figure they will since introducing the XCL. If not, there are other tarps available with longer RL's. Just a thought.

    Sounds like a great choice.

Swallow hard. Order xlc with superfly. Use next few weeks to bump up the fitness while planning my return to the AT.

    Thanks for confirming my selection.

I'm 5'8", 185 and have the regular BB... it fits me well. I have the SF but haven't had an opportunity to hang it yet.

At 5'9" and around 200 lbs, the 1.1 dbl is an excellent fabric choice. However, I doubt you need the added length of the XLC. I'm 5'9", and the regular BB has plenty of room for me. I would recomend getting the 1.1 dbl regular BB. It will also allow you more wiggle room for tarp st up since it has a shorter length.

Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can.
    Pursuing it with eager feet
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say."

+1, save a little weight and get a short xlc. You don't need that extra length... unless you're gonna grow into it?

From what I've seen, very good choice for a 4 season set up.
